After a Lesson is completed, Bobbin produces a Lesson Report for your Student. This is the main way you'll hear how a session went.
Receiving a Lesson Report
When a Lesson is marked complete, the Lesson Report is emailed to you automatically. You can also log in to Bobbin at any time and open the Lesson to read the Report there.
If your tutoring provider reviews Reports before they go out, the Report is sent once an Administrator has approved it - so there may be a short wait after the Lesson before it arrives.
The email contains a summary and a link to the full Report. Some providers also attach the Report as a PDF, so you have a copy to save or print without signing in. If you'd prefer it that way, ask them — it's a setting on their side.
What's in a Lesson Report
A Lesson Report brings together a summary of the session along with insights drawn from what happened in the Lesson. On a completed Lesson you'll typically see:
A summary of the Lesson
The main subjects covered and skills practiced
Your Student's strengths in the session
Areas to improve or focus on next
Next steps — what your Student should work on before their next Lesson. Their Tutor uses these when planning what to cover, and they're also gathered onto your Student's Progress Report.
Notes on your Student's engagement
You may also see personalized notes the Tutor has written specifically about your Student.
The insights you see are focused on your Student - what they did well and where they can improve.
Note: Not every section appears on every Report. Some are optional and your provider chooses whether to include them — the engagement notes and Next steps are both examples. If a section you were expecting isn't there, your provider will be able to tell you whether they use it.
Reports for Lessons without a recording
Bobbin's insights are drawn from a recording of the Lesson. Occasionally there isn't a usable one — an in-person session, or a technical problem during an online Lesson.
When that happens you'll still get a Report. It's written by your Student's Tutor rather than drafted from the Lesson itself, so it may read a little differently, but nothing is skipped and the Lesson is completed as normal.
If a Lesson was interrupted and picked up again, the Report covers the whole session rather than just the part after it restarted.
