For completed Lessons, Bobbin makes a recording, a transcript, AI-generated chapters and the in-Lesson chat available. These let you revisit exactly what was covered in a session.
Where to find them
Open a completed Lesson and look for its Transcript tab. Where this is available to you, you'll find:
The Lesson recording (or the audio, for in-person Lessons)
The full transcript of the session
Chapters that break the Lesson into sections so you can jump to a particular moment
The chat messages sent between the Tutor and Student during the Lesson
Whether you can see them
Access to recordings, transcripts, and chapters is decided by your tutoring company. Each Organization chooses which roles can view them, and this can include or exclude Clients. The same setting covers the recording, its audio and the transcript together, so if one isn't available to you the others won't be either.
If you don't see a Transcript tab, a recording, or a transcript on a Lesson, it usually means your provider hasn't made these available to Clients.
Note: If you'd like access to Lesson recordings or transcripts and can't see them, contact your tutoring provider. They control this setting and can make it available for your account.
How long recordings are kept
Recordings aren't kept indefinitely. Each tutoring provider chooses how long their Lesson recordings are stored, so how far back you can go depends on the period they've set.
The transcript, the Lesson Report and your Student's Progress Reports aren't affected by this — those remain available after a recording has gone. If you want to keep a particular session, it's worth asking your provider about their retention period.
Recording and safeguarding
Everyone joining a Lesson sees a notice on the join screen explaining that the session is recorded for safeguarding purposes, so your Student knows before they enter.
Recordings for in-person Lessons are made from the Tutor's phone, so they're audio rather than video.
