Resources and Your File Library

Written by Raashi Thakran

Resources is where your teaching files live - worksheets, past papers, slide decks, images. You can build your own library, use whatever your agency has shared, attach files to the Courses you teach, and open them inside a Lesson without leaving the whiteboard.

Open Resources from the left-hand navigation.

What you'll find there

Three sets of files come together on this page:

  • Your own uploads — your personal library, which only you and your agency's Administrators can see.

  • Files shared with you — either with you specifically, or with all Tutors at your agency. Anything shared with Tutors arrives automatically, including things shared before you joined.

  • Your agency's shared library — the material your Administrators have published for everyone.

Note: The shared library is read-only for you. You can open those files, use them in Lessons and attach them to your Courses — you just can't rename, edit or delete them, and you can't add anything to an agency folder. That's deliberate: it keeps a curated set curated. If something's missing from it, ask an Administrator.

Uploading your own files

Click Upload files to add images, PDFs, and word-processor or presentation documents. Each one gets a thumbnail, so your library is quicker to scan than a list of filenames.

Create folders to group things — by subject, by exam board, by the class you teach on Tuesdays. Each folder shows how many files it holds.

Note: Deleting a folder doesn't delete the files inside it — they stay in your library, just unfiled. Deleting a file removes it permanently, so take a moment before confirming.

Finding something

Search by name, and narrow the list by who uploaded it, when it was added, whether it's shared across the agency, and whether it's in a folder. Every file shows who added it, so it's easy to tell your own material from your agency's.

Attaching files to a Course

You can attach files and folders to the Courses you teach, so the material sits alongside the Course Outline and is ready in every Lesson on that Course. Both your own files and anything from the agency's shared library can be attached.

Attaching a whole folder is often quicker than picking files one at a time, and it means everything in that folder is available across the Course.

Removing a file from a Course only removes the link — the file itself stays in your library.

Using files during a Lesson

The library panel inside the Lesson space gives you three things without leaving the whiteboard:

  • your agency's shared files

  • the files attached to the Course you're teaching

  • your own personal library

Documents and slide decks are converted to pages when you bring them into the whiteboard, so you can annotate them during the session like anything else on the board.

It's worth attaching what you need to the Course beforehand rather than hunting for it mid-Lesson.

Teaching for more than one agency

Your library is scoped to the agency you're currently working in. If you teach for several organizations on Bobbin, you'll see that agency's files and your own uploads there — switch agency to see the rest.

Coming from Lessonspace?

Your agency can import its organization-level documents into Bobbin automatically, but your personal resources are yours to move. Download them from your Lessonspace account and upload them here - ideally before your first Bobbin Lesson. See Moving from Lessonspace to Bobbin.
