The Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in to Bobbin or navigate here from TutorCruncher. It's designed to give you an at-a-glance summary of where things stand so you can quickly decide what needs your attention.
At the top, you'll see a personalized greeting along with three key numbers:
Note: The Needs attention figure is a true total. It used to stop counting at 40, so a busy organization would see 40 when the real number was higher - that's no longer the case, and the number you see is the number there is.
If your organization uses report approval, the number of Reports waiting for an Administrator to approve is shown here too. For more information, see Creating a Lesson Report.
The Your Lessons Today section shows every Lesson scheduled for today, along with live attendance tracking. For each Lesson, you can see how many Tutors and Students have joined (e.g. "0/1 Tutors, 0/1 Students"), with color-coded indicators:
Green when someone is present
Red when they haven't joined yet.
This updates automatically, so you can monitor attendance in real time without leaving the dashboard.
Attendance here reflects people who reconnect - a Student who refreshes the page, switches device or briefly drops off still shows as present rather than flicking back to red.
Your sample Course and Lesson
A brand new Bobbin account starts with one sample maths Course and Lesson so you can see how everything fits together before your own teaching is set up. It's shown on a single card on the Dashboard rather than mixed in among your real records.
The sample Course has a subject and key stage set, and the first few modules of its outline marked as covered, so the coverage bar and curriculum filters behave as they would with real teaching. Sample data is left out of your Students, Tutors, Clients, Courses and Lessons lists, and out of search results, so it never gets mistaken for the real thing.
When you're ready, you can remove the sample data and the card disappears with it.
