Bobbin is the Lesson delivery system that works alongside TutorCruncher. As a Tutor, Bobbin is where you'll prepare for and deliver your Lessons, complete Lesson Reports, and track Student progress - all in one place.
Bobbin enhances each Lesson with AI-powered tools. After every session, Bobbin automatically transcribes the Lesson, generates insights into what was covered, and helps you write your Lesson Report. Everything is designed to reduce admin and give you more time to focus on teaching.
Connecting Bobbin to TutorCruncher
If your organization uses TutorCruncher, your Lessons are created and scheduled there as normal. When it's time to complete a Lesson Report, instead of doing so in TutorCruncher, you'll be redirected to Bobbin to complete it. Once you finalize the report in Bobbin, you'll be sent back to TutorCruncher and the Lesson will be marked as complete.
You can also access Bobbin directly at any time to prepare Lesson plans, review past Lessons, or check Student progress.
Not every agency uses TutorCruncher. If yours runs Bobbin on its own, everything below works the same way — you'll just sign in with an email address and password rather than through TutorCruncher.
What Tutors can do in Bobbin
As a Tutor, you have access to the following in Bobbin:
Dashboard — see today's Lessons and anything requiring your attention at a glance
Lessons — view, prepare for, deliver, and complete all your Lessons
Courses — view the Courses you teach and manage Course Outlines
Students — view the Students on your Courses and Lessons
Calendar — your Lessons laid out by date, in your own timezone
Resources — your own library of files, plus anything your agency has shared, ready to open inside a Lesson
There's also a search box covering your Students, Lessons and Courses, which only returns things you're able to open.
Note: Tutors only see the Courses and Lessons they are assigned to. Administrators see everything across the organization.
The Bobbin mobile app
Tutors are the only users with a mobile app. It's built around the day-to-day job of running Lessons and writing up notes, and if your agency has opted into the in-person beta it's also how you record a face-to-face Lesson to get a transcript and insights from it.
The app can send you a daily notification summarizing the Lessons you have that day, if your agency has enabled it.
Teaching for more than one agency
If you work with several organizations that use Bobbin, you can switch between them and your choice sticks as you move around. You'll only ever see the Lessons, Students and AI content belonging to the agency you're currently in.
Keeping your account secure
You can turn on two-factor authentication for your own account from your profile settings, so signing in asks for a code from an authenticator app as well as your password. If you lose access to the app, an Administrator at your agency can reset it for you.
