In-person Lessons

Find out what in-person Lessons and recordings mean for you and your Students.

Written by Raashi Thakran

Some Lessons happen face to face rather than online. If your agency uses in-person recording, your Tutor may record these Lessons on their phone using the Bobbin app. Bobbin then turns the recording into a Lesson report, just like it does for online Lessons.

Spotting an in-person Lesson

Lessons in Bobbin show an In person or Online tag. In-person Lessons don't have a join link, and emails about them don't have a Join lesson button, because there's no online space to join. Just go to the Lesson as you've arranged with your Tutor or agency.

If you think a Lesson has been marked In person by mistake, contact your agency.

What you'll see after the Lesson

Once your Tutor has finished the Lesson report, you'll get it in the same way as reports for online Lessons. See Lesson Reports and Insights to find out what's included.

If your agency lets Clients view recordings, you can also listen to the recording and read the transcript on the Lesson page. See Lesson Recordings and Transcripts to learn more.

Choosing whether your Student is recorded

Students are included in recording by default. The Lesson recording card on your Student's profile has two separate choices:

  • Opt out of recording: Your Student's Lessons aren't recorded, online or in person, and any recordings and transcripts they already have are hidden. Click Opt back in to change your mind.

  • Stop sharing: Lessons are still recorded so your Tutor and agency can review them, but you and your Student won't see the recordings or transcripts. Click Share again to change your mind.

Note: Your agency decides whether opt-outs are applied. If they have turned this off, the Lesson recording card will tell you.

Frequently asked questions

Does my Student need to do anything?
No. Your Tutor starts and stops the recording on their phone.

How long are recordings kept?
Your agency chooses how long recordings are kept before they're deleted. Lesson reports are kept even after the recording is removed.
